E-liquid, also called vape juice, e-juice, or vape liquid, is the liquid that fills your vape tank. These flavoured liquids are heated and vaporised by the heat of your vape coil, then you inhale the vapour. Made of a blend of flavourless propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG), food-grade flavouring agents, and sometimes nicotine, e-liquids come in a range of different flavours and varieties.

At Dr Vapes, we sell a few different types of e-liquid. 

We have our regular bottles of e-liquid containing various strengths of pre-mixed freebase nicotine or are nicotine free.

We also stock e-liquid shortfills. Shortfill bottles are larger but are not filled to the top so you can mix your desired strength of nicotine shots with the e-liquid in the same bottle. Our shortfills come with nic shots but we also stock TPD compliant nic shots that you can buy individually.

Finally, we offer nicotine salts. Nicotine salts are pre-mixed e-liquids that contain nicotine and benzoic acid, which neutralises the alkaline nicotine and causes a milder throat hit. Nicotine salts are ideal for former smokers because they give a faster nicotine hit and therefore can satisfy cravings more easily.

The vape liquid you choose will depend on the vape you use and what style of vaping you prefer. 

For mouth-to-lung vaping, a 50-50 VG and PG ratio is a good choice. These vape liquids with equal concentrations of vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol are suited for use in pod kits because they are thinner and therefore require less power to vaporise. 

High VG vape juice with more than 60% VG is perfect for sub-ohm vaping because it produces a lot of vapour and intense flavours. Because VG is thicker than PG, these high VG juices require high powered sub-ohm vape setups.

This depends on a lot of factors such as how frequently you vape, what vaping style you use, and what sort of device you use. You'll know it's time to refill your tank when you notice a weaker flavour or smaller clouds being produced.

When you're transitioning from smoking it can be hard to figure out what nicotine strength you need. It's different for everyone, but here's out general guide:

If you're only a social smoker, a 0mg, nicotine-free juice is fine.

The average smoker who smokes less than a pack a day will benefit from 12 mg nicotine strength, which is enough to keep the cravings away. 

For very heavy smokers, 18-20mg nicotine strengths are appropriate at first. Nic salts are a good option to get this amount of nicotine. 

Ideally, you will be able to gradually reduce your nicotine consumption through vaping e-cigs, reducing it to a low nicotine strength or eventually even going nicotine free.
